Halloween fun!

The day started off with her getting into the q-tips. Apparently they taste delicious...

 But mommy...

I don't think it's particularly necessary for me to give any words to this post as the pictures explain everything with much cuteness too :)

Love this little girl. And man, was she ever wired after a couple pieces of chocolate and sucker!!

Ready for baby.

Yupp I think we're ready.

One of the things in life that make me sooooo anxious is spending money. Tonight my anxiety peaked when my target bill hit $230. Yikes. I am just not used to that.

The reason for the excessive bill was I had a list of things we have to have by the time baby comes. The list had the needs for baby and also for myself. I even organized  several coupons and a 10% off registry items coupon but, man, just makes me sick thinking about it!!! I did make myself proud as the savings with the many coupons totalled 30 bucks :) But to think if I didn't have coupons.

I had matt come with me. But he had basketball and he had to depart early. Leaving me to checkout and pull out my credit card all by myself. Ugh. Yuck. Somehow having him there always makes me feel better about the expenses, as if they lay on both our shoulders. Not that we both have income, but this way I just don't feel like I am spending all his money. He has corrected me many times on "our" money. But I still create my own problems.

The one plus to this anxiety is knowing I don't have to worry aobut anything now with the baby. We are compeltely and ultimately ready to go. There is no ultimate need for anything else. Thats kind of exciting!!!

On my to-do list  I just need to get the home completely together.
Yesterday night we moved the glider up to the room and it fits in so perfectly. Theres a couple things we want to add to the wall to bring things completely together but really. It looks great. Seems bare on the oneside but really it has everything it needs and thats what matters :)

So here is the total purchase. Isn't it crazy that it was over 200??!! The smallest things are so expensive tho. Thats the issue! The leopard and pick dress was a quick purchase. But at $5 bucks why would I turn down a sunday outfit for Ellee?!?!?!?! Yes $5!!! I was tempted to buy even more clothing but anxiety got the best of me. See, there is a plus to it. It creates mild self control....

And here is bug this evening. Sick. Poor kid. Everytime she gets a cold it always seems to make her eyes a mess. The get all watery, red and puffy. Poor girl.

Nursery!

So the nursery has turned out absolutely fabulous. Baby dudge will love it. In time of course, when she can appreciate the amzing chevron pattern and colors incorporated :)

All the painting is done, clothing is situated, even got some decor going on. There's only a couple things I need to get together.
#1. The curtains. The current vanilla ones will be getting the boot as this nursery was made for something bold and fun! I am thinking pink polka dots like the changing pad cover or going for a green tone from the bumper. If I go for the green which I really like the idea of, I'll need to incorporate more green in hence I would purchase a nice rug to go with. Obviously not kelly green, but that soft lime-baby green. Not to mention they need to be the heavy blackout kind so little one can catch some serious naps so mommy keeps her sanity :) Obviously if I dont find any options a white would still make a statement with great contrast against the walls.
#2. The afore mentioned Rug. Something to break up all the open carpet space in there!
#3. The rocker. Currently in the family room needs to find its way to the nursery for a short, but maybe extended period of time :)
#4. A light. Ive been keeping my eye out for something on sale. Target or wal-mart of course. White, simple, classy. I am thinking a nice stand up lamp would be great as that could go right beside the rocking chair. Even better would be if it had different levels of brightness so I am not killing myself in the night with bright lights!
#5. Other odds and ends. I'd personally love a little bookshelf of some kind. I think 3 of those small white cubes would look great against the wall with the window. An end table, to put by the rocker. This will basically just be for me so I can keep a beverage nearby. White floating shelves. I was thinking before of putting this on the tree wall but now I think it'd be cute to get a couple short ones that I can stagger down the wall where I am putting a mirror (which is still being finishing repainted pink so not in the pics)

But really. This baby can come. I am so over being pregnant, it really does get old. Yea, yea. I'll miss it when its gone. Does one really miss, constantly needing to pee, sore feet, fat belly, incessant heartburn, exhaustion, low motivation and don't get me started on not being able to wear my regular clothing.  And yes, it IS all worth it in the end. But 9 months really is long enough. Did you know dogs only carry for 2 months? Crazy. At least were not elephants carrying for almost 2 years :)

Needless to say we   don't carry as long as elephants but I sure am getting to look like an elephant...

Baby's Room!!!

So I haven't updated in a really long time about how the nursery has been coming a long. Its been painted on 3 walls for several weeks now however one wall still needs to be completed with the chevron pattern. We've purchased the the pink paint I need to paint the whole wall a solid coat of white first then work on taping so I can stripe. Its going to be EXTREMELY time consuming and will definitely test my patience. However, it will get done :)

Tonight we were able to get up the tree and birds decal and able to get furniture situated as to where we'd most likely like to have it. Theres a spot in the corner where I want to put the rocker So we'll need to move that from downstairs to upstairs in the near future. But that works out okay since it opens up space downstairs for us to put up the swing as well as the pack n'play with changing station up in the family room. This is crucial as the pack n' play will keep baby out of Ellee's reach when I need to leave the room for short periods of time :)

Obviously the white wall behind is the wall still in need of the chevron stripe detail.
 I am loving this tree!!!

This cute little guy was a gift that I love! Its a porcelain piggy bank so wont be hanging around the crib much longer. We hope to get up a white floating shelf of some kind and I hope to make his home there!

Looking forward to: MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shes walking!!!

She took her first free handed steps on Saturday. Right in front of her Nana and Poppop. And then yesterday, she took it to new levels and did it at church. And from there its escalated. AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I have honestly been waiting for this day since her first birthday. Seeing her little self walk around with little balance and even little-er coordination makes my day.
Today has been a non stop day. From doing it at story-time at the library to doing it at home. Its been awesome.

Speaking of storytime, she was terrified! You'd think the "curious little monkeys play group" she'd love, but no. We walked in mid song and she clutched me and buried her little face into chest and WOULD NOT look up. I tried peeling her off of me to try and turn her around and she started to cry. I figured Id leave her glued to me for a couple more songs before being able to turn her around. But she would not sit besdie me she HAD to sit in my lap with her hands clutching my legs and her whole back in full contact with my body. But then they started blowing bubble and playing with toys. That worked well as she calmed down after that. And started walking around, but was using the other children as support so I had to tail gate so she wasn't pulling other kids down :)
Definitely going to have to go back to get her over this fear thing and socialize a bit.
On the other hand, kids are mean! Seriously! They steal each others toys and push eachother away. One boy tried pushing ellee away from HIS toy, and Ellee seemed to know issue trying to steal her fair share. Talk abotu sinful nature. Some things are neither taught nor learned....Still love em tho! :)

Now that the walking thing is covered we gotta get working on this potty thing. You can tell shes quite happy about this :)

What happened to my eat anything baby?!?!?!

Ellee Scarlett has always been an amazing eater. It started at 6 months when we had to include solid foods into everyday and jsut gradually progressed from there. She was always in the 20% for weight and once she got her hands on our food, she spiked to being almost 90% for weight! (Currently she is 88% weight, 80 % head, and 40% height)

She loved avocados (including Matt's homemade guac), cheese, yogurt, peas, corn, carrots, you name it! I even fed her spinach and potatoes once (which I wont eat)
But just in the past month, shes changed. Today for lunch she had a couple grapes and would not even eat a cheese string. And she loves yogurt, but again will NOT let me feed her it.
At first it seemed to be an issue of control. She likes to do everything for herself. Including spoon feed. Not that she actually can. There have been days where she holds the spoon and I dip it in the yogurt or oatmeal and she brings it to her mouth. And repeat. Its a painstakingly slow process as she also seems to think it is necessary to lick the spoon clean before dipping it back into the bowl. Maybe shes a bit ocd..Nope definitely not, she creates more messes then organization :P

Anyways, I have no idea what changed with her. And I am open to any suggestions to fix this. At this point I don't offer her anything beyond her meals, so yogurt has been going back in the fridge if she doesn't eat it and comes out at the next meal. I've also cut back on her milk, which seems to help a little. The child loves milk.

We'll have to see how things go down in the coming days....

In this pic she was just 7 months and loved eating avocados ALL the time!
